Old Hollywood glamour with a rock and roll edge is a clothing style I like to embrace. Think Lana Del Rey meets Nancy Sinatra or Jaimie King meets Monroe. There's just something special about that Old Hollywood vibe. So when I stepped into The Redbury Hotel in Hollywood last month, it was love at first sight; old school Hollywood opulence with just the right amount of modern cool. This is a hotel that knows how to dress so I knew I must blog about it.
Thanks to Twitter, someone answered my plea for 'cool but affordable boutique hotels in LA' by suggesting The Redbury and rather than plump for the obvious Chateau Marmont or The Standard, the American Boy and I decided The Redbury was for us.
We decided to take full advantage of what The Redbury had to offer and checked out their super fun restaurant, 'Cleo', where the cool kids in Hollywood like to hang. Tapas style dishes, pumped up music and a killer Grey Goose martini meant that Cleo was never lacking in atmosphere.
Just a short walk upstairs is The Library. Rather than kicking back with a good book, you'll instead be entertained with a cocktail or five and the chance to hang out on the amazing roof terrace. I likened the vibe of The Library to that of any similar Hollywood haunt: young, fun and lively. And there was music which made us want to dance our socks off. But the best thing?....knowing our bed was a mere lift ride away!
I cannot recommend The Redbury enough and the American Boy and I have already decided we're spending another night or two there when I next head back to Cali.
